Junior Achievement
CASE STUDY
1. The Challenge
Junior Achievement needed more than a traditional awards ceremony to honor their Laureates. They wanted to create a meaningful, lasting tribute—one that would inspire future generations by capturing the heart and humanity of Richmond’s most influential leaders.

2. Our Approach
StudioBDC collaborated with Junior Achievement to transform a recognition event into a cinematic experience—one that celebrated legacies through personal storytelling and film:
Interview Process: Conducted 12 intimate interviews with friends, colleagues, and community leaders over a three-day studio production
Film Direction: Guided by Brian McClure, the interviews were crafted into emotional, powerful reflections that captured each Laureate’s grit, impact, and authenticity
Cinematic Films: Produced four individual short films—each telling a distinct story of leadership, legacy, and human character

3. The Results
The impact went far beyond the event itself:
The films premiered at Junior Achievement’s annual celebration, earning standing ovations and deep emotional connection
The stories redefined the Laureates—not just as names, but as living role models of leadership
The films were repurposed for ongoing outreach, continuing to inspire students, donors, and the Richmond community

4. Why It Mattered
By turning ceremony into story, StudioBDC helped Junior Achievement immortalize its Laureates in a way that speaks to both legacy and future. This collaboration proved that when storytelling leads, leadership is remembered—not just honored.
